It's been a while

Hello,

So much has happened over the past few months.  Claire has gone through some big milestones including rolling over, sitting up (with support), and looking around for our cat (Eddie) when she here's us call to him.
The most exciting development has been in the past few days Claire has begun eating with a spoon some solid food.  This means I can now contribute more to feedings..... oh no!

The biggest news of all is not ours, but that Mark and Luisa have had their bundle of joy, Jonathan arrive.  He joined our world on Wednesday the 8th of December.  we are all very excited to have little Jonathan with us.... and a cousin for Claire!  Yeah!

This is Claire with Daniela (Godmother) on the day of her Christening.

Below is Claire in Jonathan's Jolly Jumper.... she loves it!

Smiling Claire

Looking right at the camera like a pro!
Beautiful!

Today, I (Miriam) had some fun with Claire and the camera. As most parents can attest, we will do just about anything for a smile from a baby. Here are some photos of Claire being very cute - Cat in the Hat and all. Yesterday, Claire got her two month vaccinations which was upsetting for both of us, so it was nice to have fun and see that lovely smile back on her face again today. Enjoy!

Trip to PEI

We just returned from a great trip to the Island (PEI).  We had some debate about going with Claire still being so young.  So we did some research and talked to our family doc who said, "go right ahead".  We made a lot of stops a long the way.... most notably were the stops with family.  We stayed with my parents in Ottawa for a night.  They had not seen Claire since she was born.  Needless to say it was a great visit for us all.  My sister, Sherry and her son Jonathan were there as well and had a chance to meet Claire.
Next day we made it all the way to Riviere Du Loup.  I always love and hate that drive... hate because of Montreal traffic (ugh), love because you get some great scenery from Quebec on up.  We found a nice Quality Inn with a pool and good breakfast.
Next day we made it to Fredericton and had a great visit with Ted and Margie (Geoff's Aunt and Uncle).  We stayed up late and looked at lots of old family pics and talked all sorts of things "Boothroyd".  I even saw a pic of my Great Great Grandfather who was a Mayor somewhere in England, turns out he was a big man too!  Thanks far a great visit!

Next day we made it to the island and got settled in at our little cottage we had rented on the north shore.  During our visit to the island we spent great time with Gordon, Melody and Brittany.  We also spent an evening with my Aunt Jean and paid a visit to my mom's vacant land to examine for ideas of putting a trailer there for future use.
Regrettably, our time on the island was short due to the drive time.  We had arrived on the Monday afternoon and had to leave on the Friday morning.
We stopped in Riviere du Loup on the way home and again with my parents in Manotick.

Happy 30th Sean

On Friday the 13th (oooh), the McCann Clan spent the evening with Sean for his 30th Birthday.  In true fashion, Sean spent most of the time in the kitchen preparing some amazing home made ravioli... nice!
We also had special mention of Ingrid and Judith's Birthdays too.  Fun night... I think we need to go to Sean's more often.

Also, we got our new (used 2006) minivan the night before.   I still can't believe the we have a mini van!!  Pics to come.

Let's try this out...

I have never blogged before and with the birth of our baby Claire, I am inspired to do so.
It seems like a nice way to post photos and share news of our lives..... here's to technology.
